Confirming Delivery On Paypal: Why It Is Necessary And How It Works

How To Confirm Delivery On Paypal

You’ll agree that what buyers and sellers want more than ever is to enjoy a seamless exchange of cash for items bought or services provided.

Just imagine how chaotic it would be for you as a buyer to be unable to monitor your goods as they arrive or for you as a seller to be unable to receive money for the purchase until after 21 days. Annoying, isn’t it?

Bearing the concerns of both buyer and seller, Paypal came up with the Confirm Receipt feature, a form of protection aimed at improving buyer-seller relationships. With this Confirm Receipt feature, you can easily confirm your delivery on Paypal to ensure you are satisfied with your purchase.

For an enjoyable and stress free buying experience on Paypal, here’s exactly what you need to know about confirming delivery on Paypal, why it is necessary, and how it works. Let’s get started.

How Does Paypal’s Confirm Receipt Feature Work?

Paypal’s confirm receipt feature was created in response to the need for a system that protects the buyer while also making receiving cash faster for the seller.

Before the confirm receipt feature was created, Paypal withheld the payment made by the buyer for 21 days to ensure that buyers were satisfied with their purchase.

If they were not, they could easily reverse the transaction and get a refund.

This confirm receipt option is available for transactions where items are not delivered with a tracking number.

If, on the other hand, the purchases are items to be delivered with a tracking number, Paypal tracks the items and instantly transfers the cash to the seller after the items are delivered.

With the confirm receipt feature, sellers can receive their money in 7 days or less instead of the usual 21 days.

All you have to do is indicate the nature of the transaction, whether service or virtual and change your order status to completed.

After 48 hours, the Paypal confirm receipt button will show in the sender’s transaction detail.

What Happens If A Buyer Does Not Confirm Delivery On Paypal?

Confirming a delivery on Paypal releases funds into the seller’s account before 21 days.

However, if a buyer does not confirm delivery after a transaction, there are two available options.

The seller must either wait for Paypal to confirm delivery through tracking if added to the PayPal transaction or wait 21 days for PayPal to release funds.

Although before the option to confirm receipt is available to the buyer, you must first update your order status by selecting the transaction and clicking the “Add Tracking Info” button.

How Long Does It Take Paypal To Confirm Delivery?

Paypal takes days to confirm delivery depending on the nature of the items purchased and the presence of a tracking number.

However, there are some steps that sellers can take to confirm delivery and make receiving cash for it faster.

They include:

Add Tracking

Processing the order quickly and adding your tracking number is one sure way to release your money early. To add tracking info, select sold products that have a tracking number,

and add the tracking information, then click submit.

When this is completed, the buyers will receive an email with the tracking number, order status, and shipping company.

Print a Shipping Label on PayPal

You can easily print a shipping label to send packages on Paypal to send your packages through any of Paypal’s shipping options: UPS or USPS. Here are the steps you can follow to print a shipping label on Paypal.

  • Log into your Paypal account and select the activity tab at the top left corner of your screen.
  • Find the sale in question and click on the button tagged “print shipping label.”
  • Next, you will be asked to provide your information, including your address, phone number, and the type of printer you wish to use. Then, choose your preferred shipping method.
  • Lastly, click calculate shipping cost, then confirm and pay to have your PayPal account charged and receive a printable label you can attach to the package you’re delivering.

Once you complete these steps, your package is ready for shipment. From here on, PayPal will help you track your package with no effort on your part and release the hold on funds one day after the courier confirms delivery.

Update the Order Status for Services or Intangible Items

Unlike tangible items that are shipped with tracking information, payment for services or intangible items can be released faster once you update the order status.

Why Is Paypal’s Confirm Receipt Button Missing?

For the confirm receipt button to reflect on the buyer’s end, the seller has to update the order status and change it to “order processed.” These are the steps a seller must take to update the order status.

  • Login to your Paypal account using either the app or the website.
  •  At the top of the page, select activity.
  • Select the transaction you want to update and click “get your money.”
  • Select Service or virtual product and confirm the order status.
  • Click Submit.

Once these steps are completed, the buyer receives an email notifying them that the seller has processed the order, and they must confirm the receipt.

The Bottom Line

Buying something should be a fun and enjoyable experience, especially if you’re excited about what you’re getting.

With Paypal’s Confirm Receipt feature, you can concentrate on selecting what to buy and getting your package in good condition when it arrives while the seller receives cash for it faster.

When you look at it, it’s a win-win for both buyers and sellers.
